hiring outside the box

I think we can all agree hiring is tough right now. Not only is attracting qualified applicants challenging but so is finding the right fit and experience.

What are you doing to set yourself apart to attract top-notch talent?
What do you offer?

Now is the time to think outside the box. outside the box.

Make a video highlighting the special qualities of your practice, include a brief description of the atmosphere among your team, and then post it on Facebook. Show the culture of your office, how you all have fun and support one another. Perhaps requesting a team member or two to share their thoughts in the video about the practice could be a helpful idea. Maybe feature a patient in your video and ask them to share why they chose your office, how long they’ve been a patient, and their favorite thing(s) about your office. Get away from the same ol’ boring ad. Instead, post an ad that drives people to your Facebook page.

Besides a salary, we’re all working to make a living. A salary is what we earn. We’ve all heard of the offices who reward their team “with their paycheck.” What kind of mindset is that? And who wants to work for that person? People want to work with a team that’s led by a great leader. If you’re a dentist who admittedly is not a leader, then hire someone to be the leader within your practice. People want to grow, and most look for longevity in an office. And it’s usually an appreciated perk at work when the “boss” shows some appreciation. And appreciation has many different looks, such as lunch, a shout-out in the huddle, coffee, cold hard cash, and an intentional thank you.

While money is an important part of working, you and your practice can offer so much more. Most people are looking for a career with a work-family instead of a “job.” Culture is everything.

You’re all-in hustling, making it the best day. Culture ranks up there with salary, benefits, continuing education, uniforms, etc. More times than not, money is not number one.
