Social media is one of the best ways to attract new patients, keep current patients informed of office happenings, and grow your practice. The best part is that maintaining your pages can cost very little. But the worst thing you could do is post infrequently or post ineffective content. Many dentists fail to keep up their social media accounts because they simply don’t know what to post. While planning your content ahead of time is one of the best ways to relieve some of that pressure, we’d like to provide you with some content ideas as well.

What to Post

Think of your social media pages as a way to communicate with your patients and community. These pages can also be used to advertise services or special promotions, although you avoid bombarding your followers with frequent salesy posts.

Instead, there are many other content ideas that you can post
to inform your followers and increase engagement.

  • Birthdays
  • Holidays
  • Special occasions (someone gets married, has a baby, or has another major life change to commemorate)
  • Graduations, training certifications, or other professional achievements
  • Team training
  • Patient of the Week
  • Patient before and after photos
  • Patients receiving treatment
  • Community involvement
  • Contests (best Halloween costume, pumpkin carving, etc.)
  • Candid photos of doctors and team members
  • Current social media trends

These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg! The idea is to show the real faces behind your social media pages. While followers like to receive informative information like promotions or new services, they love seeing the real side of their doctors and the team members. It helps make you look more personable and fosters a trusting relationship with your patients.

It’s worth mentioning that you must get your patient’s permission before using their photo on social media. This acknowledgment could be added to their new patient paperwork, or ask them if they would update their information and include this form during their next visit.

If possible, we recommend planning and scheduling your content ahead of time. If this task seems too daunting, you can trust the job to a social media manager for dentists. At Bryant Consultants, we understand that you’re a busy practice owner, and while taking photos can be fun, you have many tasks to complete each day. Therefore, we offer a full suite of services to handle your social media accounts. Still unsure or need help?
